WinRAR is a file-compression tool that supports all the popular compression formats, including RAR, ZIP, ARJ, LZH, ISO, and 7-Zip. WinRAR automatically selects the best compression method, with special focus on multimedia files, object libraries, and executables. Split large archives into separate volumes, so that you can save them on several disks. The compression program also offers 128-bit password encryption, which is especially helpful for sending files via the Web. WinRAR is lightweight, quick to install, and easy to use. Drag and drop files directly into the interface, or enable the side-panel folder tree and browse for files from there. Once you've selected the file, large intuitive icons make it easy to extract, test, delete, or repair. Creating and unpacking archives is competitively quick. You can also choose to lock archives, automatically delete temp files, and self-extract archives in the drop-down menu. WinRAR is free to try for 40 days. After that, you'll need to shell over $29 to purchase the full version.
