Retrospection is a software program designed to help diagnose problems with other software programs. Retrospection is a software program which constantly records what has visually occurred on your computer. When an error occurs Retrospection makes it easy to play back and review what has occurred. The review feature is useful for reading the error messages that you most likely skipped by and did not read. Retrospection has shown to be a useful support tool for diagnosing what sequence of events took place to cause a problem. Retrospection also has a feature to export your captured history as a movie. This feature can be used to send a recorded movie to another individual. Watching a movie is much easier then trying to explain what exactly happened. Retrospection was designed with the following users in mind: Technical support engineers assisting other users track down difficult problems Software Quality Assurance Test Engineers to aid the testing of other software programs Network administrators wishing to track what steps were taken to setup and maintain servers Home users Tired to trying to figure out what your kids did to the computer? Q: Is Retrospection designed to make high quality movies of screen activity (e.g. used to create movies for training or marketing purposes)?A: No. In order to create higher quality movies many frames per second must be captured. This high level of captures is resource intensive and unrealistic to accept if the capture process was to run continually. Retrospection has been designed to run continuously without adversely the impact of your computers performance.
