Product Review
CCleaner is an optimization tool for cleaning your Windows PC, aimed at protecting your privacy online and making your machine move faster. It cleans temporary files, history files, and cookies from all the major Internet browsers. It also removes old and invalid registry entries, while giving you the option to back up your registry before you perform the big delete. You know, just in case. The scan will also clear the recycle bin, temporary files, and other program tracks. CCleaner now offers a drive-wiping tool, allowing you to select a variety of deletion options that range from a quick 3-pass Department of Defense option to a slower, more granular 35-pass Gutmann-level deep clean. Choose to scrub your entire hard drive or just the free space. The latest version of CCleaner gives you more control of your deletions, allowing you to keep certain safe cookies across all of your Internet browsers. CCleaner may commandeer your default search engine during a standard install. If you do not wish to change your search engine, choose to do a custom install. You will also have the option to install Google Chrome during the download. If you prefer not to do this, you will have to uncheck those boxes. Overall users tend to recommend CCleaner in the fight against general computer lag and the accumulation of debris and Internet tracking cookies.
