Product Review
VLC is an open-source multimedia player that plays just about everything. It plays discs (DVD, CD, and VCD), devices, streams, and almost all media files, including DivX, MP2, MP3, MP4, and OGG. It also plays codecs, like AES3, without any special codec packs. VLC can function as a media converter and streamer with Blu-Ray and HD audio support. With the latest version of VLC media player, you have more control over playback speed as well as the possibility to record streaming video. Personalize the toolbars to your heart's content by removing the buttons you don't want on your player. You can also customize it with skins, though some skins seem to be more stable than others. The sheer fact that VLC can open just about any media file in your arsenal, makes it a key part of any media collection. If you love VLC, the author accepts and encourages donations.
