Equally applicable to both consumers and business users, BestNetCall is a service you should know about! This is easily the best service accessible from the Palm this year, and one that brings with it real financial benefits. In a nutshell, BestNetCall provides an Internet-based international/Long-Distance calling service at incredibly cheap rates. Rather than using Voice-Over IP (VOIP), BestNetCall uses traditional voice lines for maximum call quality. The service requires that you first provide details of the call you need to make, including the FROM telephone number (the phone you ll use to make the call) and the TO or DESTINATION number.BestNetCall then calls your telephone; when you answer, it initiates the destination call. It really is that simple! The service can be accessed using a desktop application or the Palm one reviewed here. Palm users can use a wireless or wired connection to initiate the phone calls as necessary. In the event that you have only one telephone line, you can request a delay to provide enough time to disconnect from the Internet and await the call. The service includes many other useful features, including a provision for automatic dialing of extension numbers. Customizable bill codes enable you to track the expenditure by any category you want to define. This is especially useful for business accounts and expense claims. A range of billing options is available, including pre-pay and post-pay. An online statement can be printed or viewed at any time. So, how cheap is the service? Accepting that telecommunications cost are always subject to variation, we were able to achieve costs of 6 cents per minute when the call was initiated on a cellular phone in the United Kingdom to our office in Michigan. Look to pay 6 to 7 cents a minute from the US to Australia. A typical cellular call to the US from the United Kingdom could easily set you back up to $1 per minute! The cost savings provided by the service are nothing short of incredible and both the application and service are highly recommended.
