The WebShots site no longer offers a Mac download of their program; however, SwapTop lets you access the images available at WebShots to add to your Mac desktop. Once you open the program, select File on the menu bar to update the daily picture or a random picture, and the picture appears on your desktop. Then you can return to the File menu and choose the Get info option. A small box appears on the screen with information regarding the picture onthe desktop; the title and URL are included. You c an copy the picture s URL and perhaps paste it into a list of pictures you might want to download again. SwapTop also allows Mac users to set up a schedule to automatically download a random desktop picture each day, to download the featured daily pi cture or to search the WebShots image archive. Under Special on the menu bar, I chose the Search WebShots option. I tried searches for actors, cats and landmarks. All the searches returned a wide array of pictures. This is a great program to use if you don t want to spend a lot of time looking for pictures of your favorite subjects.
