If you want to get the highest possible refresh rate on your monitor or you re interested in creating your own video mode to maximize your video hardware, this utility might make your life a lot easier. In order to use this program, you will need to know the exact capabilities of both your monitor and your video card, but the result may well be worth it. This utility is command line based, but it contains an interactive mode that prompts you for video timings and hardware capability. The result is a custom Modeline for XFree86 and video timings for a framebuffer device.
