Using a dictionary file like /usr/dict/words, Nutcracker cracks passwords in /etc/passwd or /etc/shadow files. Disabled accounts and accounts without passwords are detected. Results are printed to a formatted table. A small dictionary file is included; larger dictionary files are available on the nutcracker home page. Nutcracker is written in Perl and uses your system s crypt() function.
